The weather is cooling down, leaves are starting to turn, and fall clothing is arriving at MaJe Gallery! This week, I have three fall tops for you to savor. Add your favorite one to your wardrobe and embrace fall with flair!
Skies may be dreary, but you don’t have to be. The first of our three fall tops is a lovely green shade called “rye grass”. This fabric is a perfect weight for fall because it’s neither too heavy nor too light so it will keep you comfortable in changing temperatures. The sassy style flatters your figure with a slimming effect while draping gracefully at the hips. Machine washable and great for travel. Just $94 and (for now) available in sizes XS – XXL.
“Red Rock” is a perfect fall red as it leans a tad toward brown. Some of our maple trees will be turning this color in a few weeks! This is the second of our three fall tops. Once again, it is an excellent transition weight that’s neither too heavy nor too light. 3/4 sleeves look great on everyone, while the empire waist hides love handles. The tunic length pairs best with black leggings or skinny jeans. Consider our bamboo leggings as a wardrobe staple! This top is also $94 and selling fast.
The last of our three falls top is an elegant, hand-woven cotton/rayon blend tunic from Dairi. The cowl neckline offers a lovely drape while the collaged stripes, solids and textures provide great interest both front and back. Solid black sleeves are 3/4 length and wide. This is a one-size-fits-most top. Because of the excellent draping quality, it truly works well on sizes 4 – 16. Just two in stock at $140.
Meet the Mighty Hair Clip
Meet the mighty hair clip in both small and large sizes. This unique clip lies flat against the scalp, unlike the typical clip that stands out. And what a grip it has, too! Currently available in many colors and styles, get one for yourself for just $16 (small) or $20 (large). You’ll use it for years to come.
I invite you to join us next week to view some of our newest jewelry arrivals!
What’s new this week at MaJe Gallery? Enjoy a variety of all our Easy Elegance offerings from new jewelry, to heavy canvas totes for dog lovers, and a little tutorial on how to put an outfit together.
New This Week: New Artist Sheri K Designs
We are pleased to welcome a new artist, Sheri K Designs, to MaJe Gallery this week. Sheri searches for unusual stones and components to create one-of-a-kind statement necklaces for the woman who loves distinctive adornments. Take this lovely blue necklace as a great example. Rough chunks of blue ice quartz are interspersed with silver filigree beads, turquoise and glass to finish in a lovely sterling toggle clasp for 18″ of beauty. Yours for just $148.
Sheri K lets the beauty of this stunning matte Afghani lapis lazuli steal the show, interspersed with a single Swarovski crystal. Sometimes, the most simple necklace is the best answer, and Sheri delivers it here. Just $225.
Our final example from Sheri’s collection of 10 pieces is this black and white stunner featuring lava beads (yes, they are made from actual hardened lava), sterling filigree and clear glass. It looks heavy, but both the lava and filigree beads are actually very light, so you get the look without the weight. Just $148.
New This Week: New Work by Kathryn Sherwood
Port Orchard, WA, artist Kathryn Sherwood grows all kinds of plants in her back yard. She then dries them and mounts them on glass so we can actually wear her natural wonders! Her coleus plants turned out especially beautiful this year and she is so excited to deliver a batch to us this week. Check out the beauty of nature yourself in this bracelet and earring combo which can be yours for just $78.
New This Week: For Dog Lovers!
Everybody knows that Edmonds is a dog-friendly town. You’ll see water dishes outside shop doors, and many a dog enjoys treats all along the way on both 5th Avenue and Main Street – including MaJe Gallery! So, when I saw these fabulous heavy-duty canvas totes made in Pennsylvania, I knew they’d be a big hit with Edmonds folk. And I was right!
Here are just three examples of the wonderful silk screened dog images you can find on these amazing totes. Made of super heavy duty cotton canvas, each one measures 6″ x 16″ across and 17″ high with double-stitching for extra strength. Perfect for your farmer’s market purchases or all your downtown Edmonds shopping. Just $35 each. More breeds available including Labrador, Boxer, Boston Terrior, Corgi, Husky, Golden Retriever, Pit Bull, and more. Stop by to see them all, and take one home for yourself. Also, these make a terrific gift for your dog-loving pals.
MaJe Tutorial: Put It Together Right!
Your closet is full of disparate clothing items. How to put them together creatively? Check out these two ideas and then see what you can do with the things in your closet.
Pull any printed skirt out of your closet. Look at the colors in it. This one has blue and tan along with green, white, red and gray. It’s a one-of-a-kind skirt ($89) by Susie Howell in size medium. I liked the emphasis on blue and tan in the print, so I paired it with a tan cotton top ($32) from Necessitees in “sand”, and a crop denim jacket ($159) from Testimony in a medium blue. All are size medium. The final piece is the long 32″ necklace ($24) with a single blue stone to tie it all together. By focusing on the colors in the print, you can put together a great outfit that fits the Easy Elegance mantra.
For those of you who love black, white and gray, check out this charming combination from Morocco in hand-woven cotton separates. Loose capri pants ($120) in dark gray pair beautifully with the three blocks of fabric in the loose top ($98). While the two items are fine by themselves, they suddenly take on a whole new dimension with the one-of-a-kind found object art necklace ($88) by T.A. Ryder. This new line is a new favorite because of their generous cut and elegant drape. One size fits most.
Stay tuned to see what lovely treasures arrive next week at MaJe Gallery! Keep that Easy Elegance flowing!

A pair and a spare – that’s what this trio of socks for kids offers from Vermont’s popular SolMate Socks. Now that there’s no other option to buy kids clothing in Edmonds, we’re expanding to fill in the blank space.
Available in two sizes (ages 2-5 and then 6-8), we’ve currently got these three colorways available. From left to right, the colors are June Bug, Caterpillar and Lady Bug. We’ll be happy to add more options if they start flying out the door! Just $22 per trio. Order by emailing me directly at info (at) majegallery (dot) com.

Artcycled mosaic jewelry just arrived at MaJe Gallery, as we welcome new artist Darcy Thompson to our carefully curated collection of artisans. There’s a fun story about me and Darcy. About ten years ago, Darcy took one my Art Business classes when she was just starting out. At that time, her jewelry needed some honing. Yet she persisted! And now we are so pleased to welcome her!
Artcycled Mosaic Jewelry – Sets
Darcy searches high and low for beautiful pottery pieces with elements that will look good in her jewelry. After carefully cutting the shape out of the pottery, she sands down the edges, then grouts them into a metal base for a classy, beautiful effect. This square pendant is on a sturdy 21″ sterling chain with lobster clasp. Earrings have sterling ear wires. $74 and $48.
This black and white combo is a classic that goes with so many of the black items in our closet. It looks great on white, black or any solid color. Coordinating earrings complete the look. It has a sturdy 21″ sterling chain with lobster clasp. Earrings have sterling ear wires. $90 and $48.
And we all adore blue, making this perhaps one of her most popular color combinations. The circle pendant is on a silver mesh chain that’s adjustable 18″ – 20″ with a lobster clasp. Earrings are on sterling ear wires. $54 and $48.
Artcycled Mosaic Jewelry – Bracelets
Four bracelets with 1 1/4″ square centerpieces are just way too much fun to wear. A large lobster clasp can fit into any loop of the chain for a one-size-fits-all style. Just $48 each.
Our Funny, Irreverent Cards
We just got a new shipment of our popular cards with silly and irreverent sayings. You’re never too old to laugh out loud, so spread the joy and give someone a silly card today!
It’s July. It’s hot. If only we didn’t have to wear any clothes at all!
Alas, since it’s a requirement for polite society, then at least make it something fun to wear!
Two Super Cute Summer Dresses
One of these had to go home with me. I bet you’ll see me wearing it quite a lot this summer. Can I save one for you?
When I model it for you, you can see it’s not too low-cut to be anxiety inducing. See how my love handles disappeared? Magic!
Two Super Cute Summer Tops
Here’s another top with the same print, but a different style and color. This hi-lo top has inserts on each side that flatter and hide the things we want to hide. Another Color Me Cotton (CMC) top in their famous light-weight cotton jersey, this has a background color of light tan. It looks great with denim, khaki, olive and ivory slacks or capris. 3/4 sleeves, not too deep scoop neck. Machine washable. Perfect for a girl’s day out or just kicking around on the town. $68 and available in sizes XS – XXL.
NEW ARTIST ALERT!
We love our glass art here in the Pacific Northwest, don’t we? Welcome to our newest glass artist, Darleen Nixon, and her lovely “wish bowls.”
That’s it for this week! More fun stuff to come next week, so stay tuned!

One or two new additions can give you the summer wardrobe essentials you need for 2018. Let color play a larger role and relegate black to an accent (but it can be a very cute accent!).
Summer Wardrobe Essentials: Four Tops
This week, we tackle the top half of your body, and present four new tops in great summer hues- at least one of which will strike your fancy. Here’s #1:
From Florida, Inside Out Everyday creates easy-to-wear tops in soft fabrics that you can wear inside your home, or outside as well. That’s where the name comes from. The cherry red “Rue” top boasts an asymmetrical cowl collar that is so attractive. The flattering cut shapes the top without revealing little bulges you want to make invisible. Longer front and back so it covers your butt, wear this top over jeans, or white or black pants or leggings. The soft rayon jersey fabric is machine washable. This top is an excellent travel choice as well.
This top is also from Florida’s Inside Out Everyday is perfect for those of you who love cooler tones like this deep lake blue, which boasts just a hint of green. It’s such a great color, and perfect not only for summer, but for all year round. A shallow scoop neck doesn’t plunge deep, keeping things modest. The flattering cut gently shapes the feminine frame while offering extra room in the torso to hide little imperfections. Two pockets in the front add both style and function. Wear this top over jeans, white or black pants or leggings. The soft rayon jersey fabric is machine washable and great for travel.
The popular ruffle sleeve top from California’s Necessitees is 100% cotton and oh so comfy. Since the ruffle is a 3/4 sleeve, it is easy to wear without worrying about getting the ruffle in everything. The natural fit is perfect for those of us who haven’t quite gotten rid of our winter weight gain yet (hope springs eternal!). The top falls at the hips like a regular tee shirt – it is not a tunic. Machine washable and great for travel, the beach, a summer party, or a day out with your girlfriends. Pair it with your favorite jeans, white capris, or black leggings.
Here’s the same top in coral, to please those among us who prefer warm tones.
Summer Wardrobe Essentials: An Awesome Jacket
Us northwest gals have half a closet full of various weights of jackets and sweaters, making us the Queens of Layering. Check out this lovely addition that just came in!
Made in California by Necessitees, this 100% cotton knit jacket is short and sweet, with oh so cute ruffle sleeves at the 3/4 length. The jacket falls right at the hips, and is tailored a bit to flatter the feminine shape. A perfect collar opens to show off your choice of top beneath. Wear any color or print here, and let the top be longer than the jacket to jauntily peek out beneath the jacket hem. Machine washable and perfect for our cooler evenings or air conditioned venues.
Summer Wardrobe Essentials: Jewelry!
Shari Both has pulled out all the stops for this stunning necklace featuring various colors of chalcedony.
Did you know that chalcedony comes in an array of colors? Shari Both chose hues ranging from blues to lavenders to gold in this necklace of faceted briolettes. Shari’s careful craftsmanship displays each stone to its best advantage. Get this beauty today before it disappears! Just $198.
More of Shari Both’s jewelry can be found on her page.

Shawls and wraps make the most of your wardrobe by expanding the versatility of what you already have. Today, I’ll share two totally different shawls that can be worn multiple ways. The first is perhaps the new addition you’ll wear most often. The second is gorgeous yet simple wearable art.
Shawls and Wraps #1: Versatility
The half-moon rayon jersey shawl by Caron Miller can be worn in a number of ways, yet weighs next to nothing. Perfect for everyday as well as travel, you won’t want to leave home without this from now on.
The Half-Moon Shawl by Caron Miller is not a rectangle. Rather, it’s a half-moon shape which makes it so much more versatile than a rectangle. In this photo, it’s shown as a simple shawl, both open and tied closed. Keep yourself a bit warmer in an air-conditioned environment or as evening chill sets in. The rayon jersey fabric is soft, washable, and crunchable. Just $58, which makes it a great gift too.
The half-moon also works great as a scarf or a sarong as you can see here. Use it over a swim suit at the beach. Throw it on over your yoga gear for the ride home. And even though you can’t see it here, it is also a perfect blanket for any plane or train trips you take. Get your half-moon shawl today! Available immediately in black. Want a different color? Check out Caron’s website and let me know which color you want and I’ll order it for you (Caron doesn’t sell directly to the public). All just $58.
Shawls and Wraps #2: Wearable Art
Patti Barker hails from Friday Harbor and creates award-winning wearable art that is gorgeous, yet easy to wear. We just got four new Circle vests (which you can wear four ways – watch the video on our video page), and here are two of them, shown two ways.
Using the nuno-felting technique which felts dyed wool directly into dyed silk to become one fiber, Patti creates unique wearable art garments like this. Here are two ways to wear it, but check out two additional ways by watching her video. Each circle vest is one-of-a-kind, and $240.
This circle vest by award-winning wearable art artist Patti Barker is in subtle silvery-gray tones. As far as shawls and wraps go, Patti’s circle vests are both versatile and stunning. Patti creates a felt pin of coordinating colors for each circle vest. You can use it to pin the vest closed in various ways such as the two ways shown here. You won’t believe how feather-weight light these pieces are, making them an excellent travel companion. One-of-a-kind and $240 each. Watch the video to see all four ways to wear them.
This rectangular shawl was also in the new collection by award-winning artist Patti Barker. I am mesmerized by the incredible colors and textures Patti put into this piece. It is too spectacular for me to leave out of this post. One-of-a-kind. $240.
Great Summer Outfit
If you are size Large or XL, then this is a wonderful summer outfit for you.
My mother taught me that a monochromatic look is always elegant. This medium blue skirt and top epitomize comfort and style in one of everyone’s favorite colors. The rayon jersey fabric is super soft, easy to wash, hard to wrinkle, and an excellent companion for warmer days. The flowy skirt has a straight hem with just enough movement to drape gorgeously over the body. The longer tunic top covers hips and upper arms gracefully. Paired here with a one-of-a-kind lariat necklace of blue chalcedony and sterling silver by Poppy Design. Just a few left, so don’t hesitate. Skirt $70, Top $74.
Stay in touch to see a fun reversible dress next week!
I don’t know what’s come over me lately. We keep getting teased with these sunny days, and then a series of rainy ones will come along again making us evoke the word “June-uary”. It’s sort of making me crazy for summer dresses! Or maybe it’s just making me crazy. Either way, I want to show you some summer dresses, or rather skirts and tops, this week. I love the versatility a skirt and top have over a dress, that allows for more mixing and matching with your wardrobe.
Crazy for Summer Dresses
Here we have a one-of-a-kind circle skirt by Marcia Bloom. This is one of her longer skirts with a multi-colored pastel sheer overlay on top of a solid pale plum inner skirt. Fits sizes 6 – 14 with ease. It looks great with a lavender dolman tank from Necessitees, but would also work great with pink, aqua, cobalt, or white. You, too, can get the ruched effect by using a notKnot spiral. The notKnot spiral is great for many uses including the one shown here with a top. It can also be used with scarves, shawls, or it makes a lovely closure on a drapey sweater. Watch the video! The final touch on this particular outfit is a gorgeous necklace by Poppy that has all the colors in the skirt. It’s adjustable 18″ – 20″ and just $95. (Sold Out)
If you like a light-weight woven cotton, then the new five-tier turquoise skirt from CMC, aka Color Me Cotton, is just the thing for you. It has small black cross-hatch lines in it that add to the visual interest. Pair it with a white or black top and you’re ready for action. Wear it to the beach with your flip-flops. Change into strappy sandals for a night out on the town. Just $85.
The purple tie-dye maxi pencil skirt by Everett’s Susie Howell is so comfortable, you might never want to take it off. Especially when you pair it with the Necessitees dolman tank in white, the comfort is not only effortless, it is also elegant. The notKnot shows off the fun effect created on a tee shirt. This outfit gets a finishing touch in a 32″ necklace with a rectangular purple stone and a fabulous one-of-a-kind necklace by Bonnie AuBuchon of oxidized sterling, pearl and moonstone.
A New Top too
A new design by Florida’s Inside Out Everyday is the “Rue” in a lovely deep green-blue shade with a print accent. Super soft rayon jersey feels great against the skin. 3/4 sleeves cover just what we want. A generous cut in the torso hides a lot of sins too. Higher on the sides and lower back and front, the drape on this top is very feminine and sexy. Pair it with leggings, jeans, or many a skirt.
What about my legs?
I am always on the lookout for the perfect pants. Since we are not all built the same, nor do we have the same style, that means finding a variety of styles in quality fabrics you can wear confidently. I am happy to announce two new styles from Angelrox. First, the trouser…
Are you tired of low-slung pants? This is your lucky day. The new trouser by Angelrox features a nice, high waist with just a bit of spandex to help keep a smooth line there. Made of a lovely weight of bamboo, this trouser can take you from home, to work, to travel, to a nice evening out. Shown here in black, it is also available in a soft brown called “clay.” Stop by and I’ll show you a swatch. Available in two sizes: S/M (4 – 9) and M/L (9-12). $118.
If you prefer leggings, then go with the “base”, also by Angelrox. This also features the high waist that can help create a smooth line for whatever top you wear over it. Made of bamboo, the softness feels fantastic and naturally wicks moisture away from your skin keeping you cool on warm summer days. Available in sizes XS – XL and in 18 color choices from black to ivory and many shades in between. Stop by to see color swatches and to determine the best size for you. Or call or email me and let’s see what we can work out. Just $98.
With basics like the trouser and the base, you can go anywhere and do anything!
Next week, we’ll show you a lovely reversible dress, and bright pink top, and who knows what else? Stay tuned!

Meet Tony the Fireman! Retired Seattle fireman Tony Tomassi snagged an actual fire pole from a decommissioned fire station and put it to good use.
What does an enterprising retired fireman do with such a pole? Well, make bracelets of course!
Tony slices a piece of the fire pole off, stamps words onto the surface, then cuts a section out to make it smaller. He then shapes it into an oval and polishes it up nice and bright. You’ll find 1/4″, 3/8″ and 1/2″ widths now at MaJe Gallery, for a unique gift or personal indulgence. Commission your special bracelet today with your own words in the perfect size for just $10 extra. $48, $54 and $58 for in-stock bracelets.
A few months back, we got Testimony’s “Coco” jacket in the amazing “poppy” color, a vibrant orange. It sold out almost immediately. We just got a new batch, the last of the season.
We paired it with dark colors in early spring, but this jacket looks great with so many colors including white, turquoise, periwinkle, lime green, yellow, purple, navy and more. Release your Bold Self and get your poppy Coco jacket today! $154. (Sold out!)
