It’s July. It’s hot. If only we didn’t have to wear any clothes at all!
Alas, since it’s a requirement for polite society, then at least make it something fun to wear!
Two Super Cute Summer Dresses
One of these had to go home with me. I bet you’ll see me wearing it quite a lot this summer. Can I save one for you?
When I model it for you, you can see it’s not too low-cut to be anxiety inducing. See how my love handles disappeared? Magic!
Two Super Cute Summer Tops
Here’s another top with the same print, but a different style and color. This hi-lo top has inserts on each side that flatter and hide the things we want to hide. Another Color Me Cotton (CMC) top in their famous light-weight cotton jersey, this has a background color of light tan. It looks great with denim, khaki, olive and ivory slacks or capris. 3/4 sleeves, not too deep scoop neck. Machine washable. Perfect for a girl’s day out or just kicking around on the town. $68 and available in sizes XS – XXL.
NEW ARTIST ALERT!
We love our glass art here in the Pacific Northwest, don’t we? Welcome to our newest glass artist, Darleen Nixon, and her lovely “wish bowls.”
That’s it for this week! More fun stuff to come next week, so stay tuned!

6 Easy Stocking Stuffers
The first of our 6 easy stocking stuffers is, well, stockings! Okay, socks if you must. SolMate socks are made in Vermont of organic cotton and spandex. Mismatched with care, this company’s motto is “Life is too short for matching socks.” Many of you get these each and every year, making it difficult to remember what you’ve already given. Well, this year, we have three new colors for 2017 on hand, which you can see in this photo here. Of course we also have the tried and true colors available as well. Still just $19.95. Call to order the ones you want in the sizes you want: Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large.
If you have not yet used a glass nail file, you are in for a treat. Glass nail files leave a smooth, clean edge to your nails, which is far superior for nail health than the ripping you get from using metal or wood files. The best part, however, is how pretty these nail files are. A unique piece of dichroic glass art is attached to each one. Get one for each of the women in your life! $12 for purse size, and $14.50 for daily size.
Our faux fur headbands, scarves and fingerless gloves are a perfect MaJe Easy Elegance choice for one of the 6 easy stocking stuffers. Super soft, made in Seattle, warm and elegant – what more could a girl ask for? Many color choices still available. Fingerless gloves are $29. Headbands are $18. Skinny scarves are $42.
Here are some currently available choices in the fingerless glove department. These faux fur options are also available in scarves and hats.

Here at MaJe Gallery, we strive to find Easy Elegance choices for all areas of your life. Now that the holidays are upon us, elegant holiday choices are at the forefront of our minds. This week, we’ll take a look at some of our favorite new discoveries from across America.
Elegant Holiday Choices – Chocolate
Since 1913, Spokandy, made in Spokane of course, has delighted discerning chocolate lovers with a wide variety of chocolates. In addition to several other options, we now have these delightful and affordable boxes of 8 delicious chocolates. On the left is the premium truffle assortment, complete with eight different flavors because who wants the same one twice? Unless, of course, it’s dark chocolate sea salt caramels. In that case, an entire box of eight will do just fine! And that’s what we have on the right. Just $14 per box. Excellent for teachers, neighbors, staff, and whoever else might pop along unexpectedly.
Elegant Holiday Choices – Ornaments
Every year, I scour artist websites and the internet for interesting and affordable ornaments. This year, the most interesting choice goes to North Carolina artist Palmetto Cat Designs for her triskele ornaments. A “triskele” is the “triple spiral” motif found in traditional Celtic art. It’s made of three strips of paper, which are scored, interlocked and folded to create the triple spiral motif.
This group also features the original artwork of the artist. From left to right, we have cats and dogs saying “We woof chew a hairy Christmas”, candy canes, nativity scene, and Santa and Rudolph. Complete with a gift box, the triskele explanation, and a coordinating “to-from” card. Just $14.
Elegant Holiday Choices – Gifts
When you need just a little something, these $12 keychains come to your rescue. Made of heavy-duty pewter, they’ll stand the test of all the use they’ll get because of their daily usage. There’s just one keychain of each quote, so if you like one, get it soon! They even come in their own decorated gift box.

MaJe customers resist buying wedding gifts from the bridal registry. Why? Because it’s too boring and meaningless. MaJe customers want their gifts to be remembered and cherished for many years to come.
Enjoy our specially curated selection of wedding gifts for the coming onslaught of summer weddings.
Made in Renton by Covey Designs, this fused glass tray and coordinating “leaf” bowl are a perfect example of a unique, functional art gift. The tray measures 11″ x 9.5″. The bowl is 7″ x 4″ and 1.5″ deep – perfect for a dip for whatever’s on the tray.
A particularly stunning piece to help decorate the home of the newlyweds is this wall vase. Made in Mill Creek by Charlton Glassworks, the ancient technique of fusing copper between two pieces of glass is what creates the colors and textures. It can hold water and real flowers if you wish, or a simple dried flower arrangement such as is shown here.
This gorgeous mosaic mirror was made in Seattle by Angie Heinrich. Angie studied mosaic making with masters in Italy and Spain. She says the biggest lesson she learned from them was craftsmanship. You’ll notice the excellent finish work on each of Angie’s mirrors – a testament to her lessons learned. Angie’s mirrors come in a wide range of colors and styles. The particular one shown here uses colors present in a wide array of Northwest home decor.
A lower-priced gift that would be both fun as well as cherished is this fused glass candle shield featuring our beloved Space Needle. A combination of translucent and dichroic glass makes this a compelling art piece that has personality both day and night. Made in Kirkland by Celeste Stuhring, this is another wedding gift to cherish.
One of our very most popular wedding gifts are these beaded salad sets. Fun and functional, this is a perfect gift because it’s something unique and special that people really enjoy using, but rarely buy for themselves. Beaded in Seattle by Chantal Trandafir on high quality stainless steel.
For a low cost but effective gift, a pair of stemless wine glasses with heart charms is just perfect. At $15.95 each, this is both fun and light-hearted. The glass charms are made or opaque and dichroic glass for a bit of sparkle. Many choices of hearts available in store. Can’t come in? Let me know and I’ll email you pictures of the current selection.
These excellent ideas are awesome for wedding gifts to cherish. And of course, many more ideas can be found in-store as well, so stop by and check it out!

Decorating for the holidays can be a lot of fun, especially when you have beautiful things to put out and enjoy. Our artisans have been hard at work creating lovely things. Here are five ideas.
Two different artists are at work here, both working in glass. A self-standing snowman couple enjoy looking at the gifts beneath their tree on this lovely fused glass art work by Bellingham’s Heidi VanderWerff. Just $79.95. Three art glass trees in varying sizes are made of clear glass, with edges smoothed out both for safety and it also creates a frosted effect. Nice and sturdy, these actually come in 5 sizes – $18 – $68.
Place your Christmas cookies or cheese and crackers on this lovely fused glass tray by Renton’s Linda Covey. 13″ x 8″ and $60.
And how about this one? Adorable or what? Sparkly fused glass with a bow-tied and top-hatted snowman in the center. Another perfect dish for cookies or candies, or simply to adorn the coffee table. Made in Kirkland by Celeste, this one is $32.
I’m hearing from several customers that they are giving up putting up a real tree now that the kids have moved on. Instead, they’re getting this fused glass votive tree trio. Fused glass adorns an aluminum frame, behind which you can find a “shelf” for a votive candle. The aluminum is open in the back, so when the candle is lit, it glows through the glass is a very charming manner. Sold separately, these are $18.50, $21.50 and $23.50 respectively.
Another choice made by some in lieu of a Christmas tree is this lovely, simple trio. This features a stack of fused glass in gradually diminishing sizes. These are nice and sturdy and have rubber feet so as not to mar your table top. Elegant! $18 – $68 (5 sizes available in all).
So stop on by and get adorned for the holidays by MaJe artisans!
