New sparkly gems just arrived here at MaJe Gallery, to tantalize our eyes.
New Sparkly Gems – Pendants
Bill Booze is a master faceter of gemstones. That means he starts off with rough stones like these peridot samples…
Now look at the pendent on the left again, to see the result of Bill’s amazing skill in faceting gemstones to reveal the utmost clarity and sparkle within. Here’s that pendant on to give you an idea of the proportions.
A larger faceted round peridot is on top, while a smaller one is at the lower end of the arc. Sterling silver setting comes complete with 18″ sterling rope chain. One-of-a-kind. $400.
If you love garnets, you know how unusual it is to find one this large without white or clear inclusions. At 6.6 carats, the clarity and depth of color on this beauty are inspiring. Set in a sterling silver setting, and comes complete with an 18″ sterling silver rope chain. One-of-a-kind. $500.
An usual sterling silver setting for a trio of faceted round garnets shows that you enjoy beautiful jewelry with a unique character. These pendants are not for the woman who wants to look like everybody else. Includes 18″ sterling rope chain. One-of-a-kind. $400.
New Sparkly Gems – Rings
Even though March is nearly over, with aquamarine as the birthstone, I want to show you this new aquamarine ring from Bill Booze, our master faceter. The pale blue color looks stunning in this sterling silver setting.
The cool hue of this particular aquamarine is enhanced by the coolness of the sterling silver band and prongs. Check it out on my hand…
This one-of-a-kind ring can be yours in whatever size you need. Just let us know and we’ll make it fit. No extra cost. $400. (Sold Out.)
On the left, a pale pink morganite gem faceted by Bill Booze captures the imagination. In the same family as aquamarine (beryl), it is strong and brilliant with lots of sparkly – especially because of the additional facets Bill always adds to the underside of the gems he cuts. A simple sterling setting lets the stone show off its clarity. $400. Available in any size you need.
On the right is a spectacular smoky quartz stone, also faceted by Bill Booze. A very cool setting features an unusual sterling band with a squared-off top and 14k yellow gold prongs. $450. Available in any size you need.
New Sparkly Gems – Earrings
Okay, they’re actually glass that is as pretty as a gemstone. Enjoy these lovely new choices from Passiko.
Passiko tells the story about these mis-matched earrings she calls “Best Friend” earrings. Why is that? When you have a best friend, you have a lot of things in common…but not everything. Just like these earrings. Individually crafted from heavy sterling wire into beguiling curves and twists, and adorned with a hand-made glass bead by another artist from Washington’s peninsula. One-of-a-kind of course. These four are priced $32 – $38.
Thanks for coming along to see our new sparkly gems – and glass. Stop by to see them in person, and say hi!

Jewelry is our top-selling item every holiday season. Everyone loves a new pair of earrings, or a particularly special necklace. This week, we’d like to show you exquisite jewelry selections for holiday gift giving…or receiving!
Exquisite Jewelry Selections – Fine Jewelry
This stunningly vivid turquoise blue known as “Swiss Blue” topaz comes from our favorite faceter, Bill Booze. The necklace features a 10 carat AAA-grade gem mounted in sterling silver. The earrings are about 8 carats total weight, also mounted in sterling silver with leverback ear wires. Bill’s 30+ years of faceting expertise bring out the maximum color and sparkle in these stones. You will share moments of beauty with complete strangers due to the brilliant beauty of these stones. The necklace is $600, and earrings are $400. One of a kind, of course. This is a gift you’ll treasure the rest of your life.
A photo can’t capture the amazing fire in these monarch opals. You’ll have to stop by to see them in person to see for yourself. I only saw them in photos, but saw the many comments customers made about the opals, so I decided to go for it to see for myself. When I opened the package Monday afternoon, I was blown away. These are simply stunningly gorgeous, and set in a wonderful artistic style by New York’s Elyse Clark. Necklace is $198, earrings are $89. Set in sterling silver.
Exquisite Jewelry Selections – by Manya Vee
Somehow, I squeezed in some time to create this lovely two-strand necklace and earring set in time for December. I’ve been dreaming about it for about six months, and now it comes to life just for you. I was inspired by the smooth teardrop labradorite pendant that shimmers in shades of blue-green-gray to tease your eyes. I paired it with teal apatite, pyrite and more labradorite along with some sterling silver beads and chain. The short piece is 20″ long while the longer length is about 23″ making it the perfect length to wear with just about everything. I had to make coordinating earrings too, of course. $198 for the set. (SOLD!)
Exquisite Jewelry Selections – Sweet Bows
For those of you who like things simple and sweet, take your pick between a gold-fill or sterling hand-wrought bow by Shari Both Jewelry Design. Starting with round wire, Shari forms the shape of the bow, then hammers it to provide strength and resilience. Life’s blows make us sweet and strong – that’s how I think of it. For some reason, that rings particularly true these days. Be feminine. Be strong. Be you. $88 for gold-fill. $82 for sterling. Visit Shari’s special page for more of her wonderful jewelry.
You just never know where your path in life will lead you. For Christophe Poly, his studies in architecture led to small scale sculpture in jewelry! Christophe is our top-selling jewelry artist at MaJe Gallery for his simple, sophisticated, affordable jewelry. This set shown here is among the latest arrivals. In brushed bronze with a cat’s eye stone, it is sure to garner compliments for whomever wears it! Lots more necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings price $34 – $58.

I’m going to tell you what I love about London Blue Topaz, but I have to reveal my secret first.
I have this perverse goal of refusing to dress like everyone else. If I see 20 of the same item on the rack, even if it’s what I came in to buy, I don’t want it anymore. Why not? Well obviously, because 20 other people will have it too. 20 on a rack means there are 20 on racks in other stores everywhere. That adds up!
The same thing goes for jewelry. I started making jewelry in my teens. I started buying unique jewelry then too. I still have an amethyst ring I got from a silversmith with babysitting money burning a hole in my pocket. I think I was 15 or so.
You know and I know that the “top” stones are diamond, followed by ruby, emerald and sapphire. Well, that may be true, but you know what else that means? Everyone, and I mean everyone has them, or at least one, in their jewelry box. Booooring.
So, this being September, with sapphire as the birthstone, I want to offer an alternative to my like-minded pals – namely – you! And what do I offer now? London Blue Topaz! But not just any London Blue Topaz, oh no. It’s gotta be special, right? And unique, of course.
The Master Faceter
Enter Bill Booze. For over thirty years, Bill has been honing an unusual skill: faceting. It’s so unusual that when I tell you about it in the store, you have to think for a minute. Everyone knows what facets are on a stone. Well, someone had to put them there, right? Nature sure didn’t. That’s what Bill does. He puts all the facets on the gemstones – top, sides, bottom.
But it actually starts a little before that, when he selects the rough stones to facet. His practiced eye can spot a stone of excellent quality even in the rough! His faceting technique is recognized immediately by gemologists, who are very familiar with the same old faceting styles most commonly used. They are always impressed with the quality.
And you, when you look at his gems at MaJe Gallery, you are always dazzled because of how sparkly and beautiful his work is. Bill’s jewelry is so very special because of his years of mastery as well as his love of colored gemstones (i.e. NOT the usual suspects).
What’s So Cool About London Blue Topaz Anyway?
For me, the answer to that question is because it is such a gorgeous teal blue color. Teal happens to be one of the most popular colors among you, my dear customers, in terms of both clothing and jewelry. Why do you suppose that is? Because it looks good on nearly all skin types, that’s why. I think it is a prettier shade of blue that sapphires.
Another reason it’s so cool is that it is easier on your wallet than sapphires. Sure, you can get cheap sapphires just like you can get cheap diamonds. That doesn’t make them of good quality. Top quality London Blue Topaz is more affordable than even mid-quality sapphire.
It’s a nice, hard stone too, with a Mohs hardness rating of 8. That’s important because it means it will stand the test of time.
Finally, London Blue Topaz is a magical mix of nature and nurture. Natural topaz is white, or clear. To get the lovely shades of blue, it is irradiated to achieve a permanentcolor enhancement. Now you can enjoy this intense color in AA and AAA grade stones, faceted by the master Bill Booze, and set in simple, elegant settings of sterling silver of 14k yellow gold.
I want to show you three rings and three pendants from our current collection. Obviously, they are all one of a kind, so supply is limited to what’s on hand.
Let’s look at some new rings first. Keep in mind that we can re-size any of these rings to fit YOURfinger.
Mesmerizing London Blue Topaz Rings
Set in sterling silver, this large 7.3 carat stone is stunningbecause of its size and sparkle. Bill Booze learned long ago how to include additional facets on the underside of each gem in order to let you dazzle yourself with the sparkle. Let us size it to fit you! $425.
I know some of you like a wide ring band because it makes a bigger statement. This 5.1 carat London Blue Topaz is for you. The rich teal hue of this new stone is very lovely. There’s only one like it. Let us make it your size! $500.
Let’s end with the ring section with the most spectacular stone. It’s a AAA grade stone because of the clarity and depth of color. Set in 14k yellow gold because it’s so precious, you’ll mesmerize yourself as you gaze at it throughout the day. Let us make it your size! Next time you visit, just take a look at it to enjoy the beauty of this unique gem. $875.
Mesmerizing London Blue Pendants
Since some of you prefer a pendant over a ring, we now have three beauties to show you.
The vast majority of faceted stones are round, but this one is oval, hence keeping elegant simplicity a key design element while capturing a unique distinction. Weighing in at 4 carats, the size is small but not too small to avoid notice. $400. 18″ sterling snake chain included.
This unique yet simple setting features a smaller London Blue Topaz that weighs in at 3.2 carats. While it has a round faceted stone, the setting is rather unusual because it is on a curved sterling arc. It’s very sweet. $400. 18″ sterling snake chain included.
Need a bit more punch?Check out this 5 carat faceted London Blue Topaz set at the bottom of a sterling teardrop frame. This is the largest stone of the three pendants shown. While still an elegantin size, it stands out more dramaticallybecause of both the larger stone and setting. $460. 18″ sterling snake chain included.
Next week, I’ll introduce you to two cool new jackets from California’s Color Me Cotton. One is the first of three styles of their super popular tapestry jackets. The other is a very cool cotton zip jacket! Stay tuned!

Peridot jewelry is what everyone is looking for these days. Not only is it the birthstone for all you August birthdays, but it is also a beautiful shade of green.
Background of Peridot
Called “the extreme gem” by the Gemological Institute of America, Peridot is born of fire and brought to light, one of only two gems (Diamond is the other) formed not in the Earth’s crust, but in molten rock of the upper mantle and brought to the surface by the tremendous forces of earthquakes and volcanoes. While these Peridots are born of Earth, other crystals of Peridot have extraterrestrial origins, found in rare pallasite meteorites (only 61 known to date) formed some 4.5 billion years ago, remnants of our solar system’s birth. Peridot in its basic form, Olivine, was also found in comet dust brought back from the Stardust robotic space probe in 2006, has been discovered on the moon, and detected by instrument on Mars by NASA’s Global Surveyor. Ancients believed, quite accurately, that Peridot was ejected to Earth by a sun’s explosion and carries its healing power.
Artists Make Beautiful Peridot Jewelry
Many of you are aware of Bill Booze, our master faceter. Bill takes the raw stones, as in the photo at the top. He carves off each and every ledge, or facet, to bring out the maximum beauty of the stones. And did I mention how much they sparkle? Bill carves extra facets underneath to get crazy amounts of sparkle. No two alike, and this necklace and earring set here, in its unusual setting, is a perfect example. $700 for pendant, chain and earrings. (It goes up to $900 in September.)
Peridot Jewelry – Rings!
Here are two views of the same ring. This is another incredible peridot featuring the masterful faceting of Bill Booze. It is a large stone weighing in at 5.3 carats. It’s very clear and a yummy shade of green. Currently sized at 7, we can make it your size within 2 weeks. $600.
Go for the gusto with this AAA grade peridot set in 14k yellow gold. This one is the most amazing peridot I’ve ever seen. The color, clarity, size and beauty are a “must see”. This ring is currently size 6 1/4, but we can make it any size you need within 2 weeks. $900.

Testimony’s Victorian jacket in asphalt, a mineral wash black, looks and feels great (purchase below next photo). The Color Me Cotton white bamboo tank top sets the stage for a four-layer Manya Vee Jewelry original necklace set. On the bottom, the Angelrox playsuit is leggings with a skirt, adding another dimension to the layered effect. Looking great was never this easy.
Here’s a closer look at the ever-popular Victorian jacket from Testimony. Made of the highest quality French terry (94% cotton, 6% spandex), it is soft and flexible, as well as machine washable. Paired here with Testimony’s Pocket Pants in the same fabric, these boot cut pants are a hit with everyone who purchases a pair.
Here’s a closer view of the four necklaces in Manya’s black and white series. The lengths are 32″, 26″, 20″ and adjustable 16″ – 19″. This combo looks great on white (shown), black, or any solid color, making it exceptionally versatile. Available as a group or separately. Coordinating earrings also available.
The magnificent art of Bill Booze brings us a citrine collection this month. A large teardrop pendant glows with the radiance of a sunny day, casting sparkly joy on all it sees. Set in sterling, it is among the most charming pendants you’ll see. The coordinating stud earrings are a bit more pale, yet due to Bill’s skill with faceting, throw sparkles all around the room.
A large faceted citrine oval glistens as the light catches the many facets created by master faceter Bill Booze. Set in sterling, this beautiful stone is simply set to best show off the beauty of the stone.

It’s February now, which means that AMETHYST is the birthstone of the month. MaJe Gallery has the finest amethysts in the world in a wide selection of pendants, earrings and rings. Our master faceter, Bill Booze, purchased amethyst stones in the rough from the guy who owned the mine over 30 years ago. First off, finding amethysts this large to facet is a rare feat in and of itself. Then, adding Bill’s over 30 years honing his skill as a faceter leads to the most mesmerizing results. You won’t find this quality even in the finest jewelry stores near you – only at MaJe Gallery.
Here are two views of a 12 carat Four Peaks Mine amethyst, hand-faceted by the master, Bill Booze. Rich, deep hues of purple are characterized by flashes of red and magenta, giving lots of life and beauty to the stone. Beautiful Garnet Jewelry in Silver
Our top choice for beautiful garnet jewelry is by Bill Booze. A master faceter, Bill selects top grade stones that are still rough, and carves off each little ledge, each facet, to capture the most intense color and sparkle possible in each stone. After honing his skill for over 30 years, Bill’s stones are unrivaled in depth of color and perfection.
Bill usually focuses on a single stone in a pendant, or a pair in earrings. This five-stone necklace is a rare treat due to not only the perfectly matched stones, but also the classical elegant design that you might find on the queen in a period movie. Think of the jewelry in “Elizabeth” or “Titanic”, and you’ll be reminded of the feminine power of the jewelry of that time. Now you can own it yourself!
These photos show the intense shade of red in the hand-faceted beautiful garnet jewelry by Bill Booze. Whether you prefer a little dangle or a simple stud, we’ve got you covered with a stunning example of high quality garnet jewelry. By the way, garnet is also the stone for one’s second wedding anniversary.
Ed Levin has been making modern heirloom jewelry in New York for over 60 years. This unusual necklace can be worn as shown, which is perfect for all your V-neck tops. But you also have scoop neck tops in your closet, in which case you can simply “swing” the necklace around so it forms a “U” that fits perfectly with your scoop neck tops!

Better not wait too long because I think these will sell out fast!(Update 1/16 – yep, they all sold out. Hope to get more soon. Stay tuned!)
Cheerful colors like seafoamare popular too. The solid jacket is hip length with a zip closure, excellent pockets and even a hood. The print top coordinates perfectly because they were dyed in the same dye lot. The top has 3/4 sleeves and an assymetrical hem and V-neck. Both are cotton with spandex which means they’ll be easy to wash and care for in addition to feeling great on your body.
Cheerful Colors like Garnet
It’s Januarywhich means our birthstonethis month is garnet, and we have some gorgeous selections from which you may choose your favorite.
Check out this one-of-a-kind hammered sterling ring by Lynnwood’s Bonnie AuBuchon. It features a faceted garnet in a deep red hue that catches the light beautifully. Currently sized at a 10, it can be re-sized just for you. $90.
The depth of color in this beautiful garnet is enhanced by the additional facets carved on the underside of the stone by our master faceter – Bill Booze. Bill has been honing his faceting skills for over 30 years now, and can capture the most beautiful aspects of his A-grade stones so masterfully. Since he’s also a metalsmith, he sets the stones, too, usually in simple settings to best show off the stone. Here we have a sterling teardrop setting with the garnet nestled at the base for an interesting, contemporarylook.
Style Tip – Choose The Right Jewelry
Here’s another tip in our ongoing series about choosing the right jewelry for your outfit. We’re looking at our periwinkle top with its interesting texture of undulating lines and puckers.
There’s room for a 16″ – 19″ necklace in this top which features a shallow scoop neckline. First, mimic the shallow scoop by choosing a necklace that is also a scoop shape as opposed to a pendant that would change the shape to a “V”. Second, find something with undulating lines such as this interesting piece by Lizzy James, which also has interspersed shapes that are very similar to the shapes in the top itself. What could be more perfect?
