I don’t know what’s come over me lately. We keep getting teased with these sunny days, and then a series of rainy ones will come along again making us evoke the word “June-uary”. It’s sort of making me crazy for summer dresses! Or maybe it’s just making me crazy. Either way, I want to show you some summer dresses, or rather skirts and tops, this week. I love the versatility a skirt and top have over a dress, that allows for more mixing and matching with your wardrobe.
Crazy for Summer Dresses
Here we have a one-of-a-kind circle skirt by Marcia Bloom. This is one of her longer skirts with a multi-colored pastel sheer overlay on top of a solid pale plum inner skirt. Fits sizes 6 – 14 with ease. It looks great with a lavender dolman tank from Necessitees, but would also work great with pink, aqua, cobalt, or white. You, too, can get the ruched effect by using a notKnot spiral. The notKnot spiral is great for many uses including the one shown here with a top. It can also be used with scarves, shawls, or it makes a lovely closure on a drapey sweater. Watch the video! The final touch on this particular outfit is a gorgeous necklace by Poppy that has all the colors in the skirt. It’s adjustable 18″ – 20″ and just $95. (Sold Out)
If you like a light-weight woven cotton, then the new five-tier turquoise skirt from CMC, aka Color Me Cotton, is just the thing for you. It has small black cross-hatch lines in it that add to the visual interest. Pair it with a white or black top and you’re ready for action. Wear it to the beach with your flip-flops. Change into strappy sandals for a night out on the town. Just $85.
The purple tie-dye maxi pencil skirt by Everett’s Susie Howell is so comfortable, you might never want to take it off. Especially when you pair it with the Necessitees dolman tank in white, the comfort is not only effortless, it is also elegant. The notKnot shows off the fun effect created on a tee shirt. This outfit gets a finishing touch in a 32″ necklace with a rectangular purple stone and a fabulous one-of-a-kind necklace by Bonnie AuBuchon of oxidized sterling, pearl and moonstone.
A New Top too
A new design by Florida’s Inside Out Everyday is the “Rue” in a lovely deep green-blue shade with a print accent. Super soft rayon jersey feels great against the skin. 3/4 sleeves cover just what we want. A generous cut in the torso hides a lot of sins too. Higher on the sides and lower back and front, the drape on this top is very feminine and sexy. Pair it with leggings, jeans, or many a skirt.
What about my legs?
I am always on the lookout for the perfect pants. Since we are not all built the same, nor do we have the same style, that means finding a variety of styles in quality fabrics you can wear confidently. I am happy to announce two new styles from Angelrox. First, the trouser…
Are you tired of low-slung pants? This is your lucky day. The new trouser by Angelrox features a nice, high waist with just a bit of spandex to help keep a smooth line there. Made of a lovely weight of bamboo, this trouser can take you from home, to work, to travel, to a nice evening out. Shown here in black, it is also available in a soft brown called “clay.” Stop by and I’ll show you a swatch. Available in two sizes: S/M (4 – 9) and M/L (9-12). $118.
If you prefer leggings, then go with the “base”, also by Angelrox. This also features the high waist that can help create a smooth line for whatever top you wear over it. Made of bamboo, the softness feels fantastic and naturally wicks moisture away from your skin keeping you cool on warm summer days. Available in sizes XS – XL and in 18 color choices from black to ivory and many shades in between. Stop by to see color swatches and to determine the best size for you. Or call or email me and let’s see what we can work out. Just $98.
With basics like the trouser and the base, you can go anywhere and do anything!
Next week, we’ll show you a lovely reversible dress, and bright pink top, and who knows what else? Stay tuned!
