Two Great Ways To Make a Subtle Statement

This week, we look at two great ways to make a subtle statement in your personal style.

Subtle Statement: Start With A Great Top

Subtle Statement style includes a pretty top that unexpected and bold. From Inside Out Everyday.
Front and back views of the new “Paris” top

Sizes

Just in from Inside Out, this new top with the “Paris” print in front, and silvery-blue super soft fabric in the sleeves and back. The straight hem will please those of you who dislike asymmetrical hems. With breathing room through the torso, it leaves a flattering appearance with exquisite drape. Machine washable, designed and made in Florida. $84.

Trying to avoid black? Then pair it, as we’ve done here, with the fabulous Testimony Pocket Pant in “cloud.” Or, perhaps you’re looking for a new, light-weight black pant with a little pizzazz.

Sizes

This new pant has the great detail of shirring at the ankle. It’s narrow, but not tight, therefore it’s not a legging. Rather, the light-weight fabric drapes beautifully and comfortably, revealing a little fun at the ankle. This also looks great with the Paris top shown above. $78.

Subtle Statement: Great Jewelry

It’s 17″ – 20″ long, and turns your favorite jeans and T-shirt into a statement. At just $68, you can’t go wrong. Of course, this would look awesome at a party with a fancy dress, too.

Great choices for a new spring handbag

Spring style 2017 handbags never looked as good as these great choices from Maine’s Erda, maker of legendary handbags. Whether you like small, medium or large bags, we’ve got you covered. Materials include waxed cotton and tapestry fabrics, so they are light-weight to begin with, which preserves your shoulder strength.

On the left is the “Princeton,” made of brown waxed cotton with adjustable cord. It’s a sculptural shape with a functional soul featuring a wide mouth for easy opening. It has a back slip pocket and inside credit card pocket, measuring 6.5″ x 9.5″ x 2″. $80.

In the center is the “Hillary,” the perfect bag for those of you who like a nice, large one. It’s a zippered hobo with ample room for anything and everything, yet slouches elegantly on the shoulder (1″ wide adjustable micro-fiber strap) while staying upright when placed on a surface. There’s a large split zippered pocket inside with a key fob as well as a smaller interior credit card pocket. It’s even fully lined and measures 14″ x 17″ x 5″, for $168.

On the right is another great, versatile smaller bag, the “Lovell”. This one features a subtle tapestry fabric with black waxed cotton accent. It fits flat to the body with an adjustable strap with a zippered top, zippered side pocket, and back slip pocket. Another slip pocket inside holds credit cards perfectly. It’s 10″ x 8″ x 2″ and $80.

This week, new art for home, kitchen, body has arrived – and it’s made right here in our own backyard! No, you won’t find these items in a mall. Ever. Northwest artists making lovely things for our Northwest lovers.

Art For Home

Now retired, former Mukilteo schools art teacher Rolf Oversvee heads out to a great view, gets out his painting gear, and paints the scene. This is a larger painting, measuring 24″ x 48″ – often the perfect size for above a fireplace or sofa. His use of warm and cool tones together create cheerful yet peaceful works that celebrate the natural beauty of our surroundings. $998.

Art For Kitchen

The "Garden Goddess" tea towl by new artist Debbie Tomassi
The “Garden Goddess” tea towl by new artist Debbie Tomassi

We are thrilled to welcome a new artist to MaJe Gallery this week – Debbie Tomassi (from Seattle) brings her linen tea towels to Edmonds. And these aren’t just any tea towels either.  Starting with an original painting, Debbie prints that image onto linen using ink with intense saturation to capture all her glorious colors. Precision is key, so lining up the image properly is just one step in the process. Once printed, Debbie then hand-finishes the edges and seals it all in to create a luxurious, vibrant linen tea towel that will withstand many washings and bring you joy for years to come.

We have five designs in Debbie’s delightful tea towels for you to enjoy. Art for home, kitchen, body likes to offer options!

Puss-and-Birdy-Tea-Towels

Here’s a pair of tea towels, sold separately, featuring more of Debbie Tomassi’s vibrant art. Who knew a kitchen tea towel could be so beautiful?

Great quality and just $28 each.

New Jewelry By Manya Vee

Fused silver necklace with apache gold pendant, and carnelian, onyx and smoky quartz necklace by Manya Vee
These two necklaces showcase two distinctive styles of jewelry Manya Vee specializes in

Here are two new necklaces by our very own Manya Vee. These are hot off the anvil – just finished a few days ago! They capture two distinctive methods Manya uses to make her popular jewelry.

On the left is one of her handmade 24″ silver chains with gold-fill links interspersed. Each silver link was first fused, and then formed and hammered. The center stone is super cool. It’s called Apache Gold. Mined in Arizona, it has pyrite captured in a black schist base. The pattern of the “gold” within the black is beautiful. It is said to help us substitute negative energy for positive. Who couldn’t use that these days?

On the right is a splendid example of one of Manya’s classic beaded pieces. This one features a sterling and carnelian pendant Manya commissed over 20 years ago (she’s finally parting with it!). Enhanced with carnelian, smoky quartz and black onyx beads, it is 24″ long.
