New Fall Arrivals at MaJe Gallery – Unique Jewelry, Skirts

New Fall Arrivals

A new fall arrival is this unique ammonite and amber pendant was made by Bonnie AuBuchon
Ammonite and Amber pendant by Lynnwood’s master metalsmith, Bonnie AuBuchon

Two ancient natural substances become beautiful contemporary mates in this one-of-a-kind pendant by Bonnie AuBuchon. Amber is fossilized tree resin, has been appreciated for its color and beauty since Neolithic times.  Ammonites are fossilized sea creatures, similar to a nautilus. A master metalsmith, Bonnie created a flowing frame in sterling silver to unite the separate elements together. This is just one of our new fall arrivals. It hangs from a black leather cord measuring 17″

Also among our new fall arrivals is new jewelry by Montreal’s Christophe Poly. He studied architecture in college, then fell in love with the small scale of jewelry sculpture. One of the most popular jewelers at MaJe Gallery, this is one of the newest pieces in our new fall arrivals. Brushed silver and bronze with aqua cat’s eye stones, it sits on a 17″ double wire necklace with a magnetic clasp. (Update 10/12: Necklace now sold)

A new fall arrival: this necklace and earring set of bright silver with lavender cat's eye.
Another set by the popular Christophe Poly

Once familiar with the jewelry of Christophe Poly, it’s easy to recognize. This set is composed of bright, shiny silver, with one brushed silver circle on the right side. The lavender cat’s eye gives it a cool mood. Like above, this is also on the 17″ double wire with magnetic clasp.

New fall arrivals: more subdued skirts by Marcia Bloom
Fall skirts by Marcia Bloom

Also among our new fall arrivals are these fairly subdued skirts from our usually riotously colored skirts by California’s Marcia Bloom. As comfortable as always, these would all look great with your black boots this fall and winter.  One size fits 6 – 16. Don’t believe me? Stop by and see for yourself! (Update: These three are now sold out.)

Outfit of the week for the first day of fall

Flummoxed about how to work with your Marcia Bloom skirt? Check out this one here with the lovely fall colors. We recommend pairing Marcia’s skirts with a solid-colored top. Pull the top and bottom together by selecting a second color from the skirt, and wear that as a scarf (or a necklace if you prefer). In this instance, we choose the medium brown from one of the stripes in the skirt and found a top in that color. Here is a Luxe Junkie 3/4 sleeve top in “mocha”. Next, we choose the brightest color in the skirt for the scarf – a rich terra cotta. This is a hand-painted silk scarf by our beloved Birgit Moening. (Update: this exact skirt has sold. However, we have one similar. It’s the same fabric in the body and hem. The waistband is a different fabric. Interested? I can send you a photo.)

Alternatively, wear a solid terra cotta top, and either a mocha or mustard scarf. By selecting higher contrasts, you make a very stylish statement with ease.

Great news! In the “new jewelry” category, for all you Joseph Brinton Jewelry fans, even though he won’t be doing art shows anymore, you can still find his jewelry.  Where?  At MaJe Gallery of course! We are now the exclusive distributor of this artistic and affordable jewelry line from Portland, OR. We have a very large selection right now, so stop by as soon as you can.

More new jewelry comes in the form of the ever-popular sterling rings by Lynnwood’s Bonnie AuBuchon. Bonnie just delivered a large collection with stones like aquamarine, labradorite, turquoise and larimar.  Here are three to whet your appetite.

On the left, in that unique and beloved blue, is the larimar in a simple sterling setting and single-row band. Currently sized at 6 1/2, we can re-size it to your needs.  In the middle is a fascinating amethyst with lots of white matrix within. Set in a simple sterling bezel with a triple-row band.  Currently sized at 7, again, we can re-size it for you if needed.  A glowing carnelian is on the right, sized at 5 1/2. The bezel has a fancy edge. The band is a split double-wide, and  I don’t need to mention that we can make it your size.

Multiple-award winning artist Donna Jean Perry delivered a new collection of works including this ode to our changing seasons, “New Buds.”  While the leaves will fall off soon, never fear! Spring is just months away and new buds will appear on those bare branches. This piece is beautifully framed with an ivory mat and matte black frame that measures 28″ x 22″, so it’s ready to hang immediately.

Outfits of the Week

Skirt, Top and jewelry - all new at MaJe
First Outfit of the Week

As we move into fall, our clothing choices are turning autumnal! Check out this gorgeous one-of-a-kind skirt by Marcia Bloom. (Sorry to report that it has now sold. However, other similar skirts are still available.) It’s longer than usual, and sports TWO layers. The top layer is sheer, so she built in a slip. The scalloped hem zigs where the slip zags, while peaking out from beneath in an enticing way. Paired here with an aubergine top by Testimony Los Angeles, you could certainly also wear it with olive green, magenta, terra cotta, black or white. This skirt could easily transition from fall to winter and into spring, therefore adding a versatile skirt to your collection.

In keeping with the colors and mood, I paired it here with a one-of-a-kind necklace by Poulsbo’s Poppy Design. A jade pendant carved into a dragon is the main focus. Coppery-gold coin pearls are punctuated with wavy silver tubes and white glass beads. It’s doubled up here, but could also be worn long at 32″.

Terra Cotta and Eggplant colors unite in this lovely vest-like piece by Olympia’s Pam Wells. Made from vintage silk sari fabric, so it is easy to dress up or down. I paired it here with an ivory top by Testimony Los Angeles, as well as their pocket pants in “sand.” The simple carnelian pendant was made in Seattle by Mary Freiberger. Easy to wear. Easy care. Comfortable and stylish.
